Cork Short Story Festival

Nuala will take part in a panel on the author-editor relationship chaired by Patrick Cotter. Also on the panel will be Declan Meade, Danielle McLaughlin and Sara Majke.
The event is part of the Cork Short Story Festival and on at Sat. 10th September, 2.45pm, Firkin Crane Theatre, Cork.

Reading on Arena

RTE Radio 1's Arena will broadcast Nuala reading her poem 'The Birds of Madrid'. It features in the Salmon Poetry anthology Even the Daybreak.

Story in the Irish Time

Nuala has a new story in todays' Irish Times, 'Storks', about the aftermath and pain of miscarriage. It's set in Spain, mostly in Cceres. You can read the story online here.

Shanghai Visit

Nuala attended the 14th International Conference on the Short Story in English in Shanghai, China from the 13th-16th of July.

International Short Story Conference

Nuala is attending the 14th International Conference on the Short Story in English in Shanghai, China.
The conference, directed by Dr Maurice A. Lee, University of Central Arkansas and Co-Director for Shanghai Dr. Martin Jin of East China Normal University, Shanghai, draws together writers and academics from around the world to discuss and celebrate the short story in all its forms.
Nuala will teach a workshop and give a reading at the conference.
